God is a God of action!

Psalm 68:7"....O God, when you went out before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness,...."

God is a God of action. He is not dependent on his people to start things, he is the first to act and to initiate salvation. He initiated to rescue his people from Egypt, he raised up judges, prophets, kings, and he sent his son, his word, himself, made flesh and came down among us. Not because we were worthy, or especially good at praying for salvation, but because he loves us, His creation, and he wanted us to be able to come back once again to a right relationship of Love towards Him and all of his creation.

He is initiating for salvation today in this earth! In this very city! God has called us and others to this city, and many other cities like it in this country. Not because we so desperately long for peoples salvation, but because God so desperately longs for people to be pulled out of darkness. He so loves the people of Los Angeles that he is the one in pursuit, he wants his glory to be renown, that all may hear and all may know who is their creator and be able to come back to a right standing relationship of Love with Him. God is beckoning this city to come before Him and recognize him for who he is.

7 months going on 8

Living here in Los Angeles now for about 7 months I can begin to honestly say that I have begun to experience much of what LA has to offer. And though it is a city filled with dreams and aspirations, the super- extraordinary, and the everyday-ordinary, museums, beaches mountains, wealth, poverty. I have been introduced to the "black American express card, the latest styles in jewelry and fashion, and though it is, in the standards of this world, a city full of life, as I scratch the surface I begin to find an emptiness. This is a place that though it glories in all of creation it has forsaken it's very Creator.

So much creative talent, so much potential, but so much of it falls short of the Glory of God. I can imagine this place filled with the Spirit of God. The more conversations I have with people here about God, the more i see how even their mockery of Jesus and his followers is a hollow facade. People here do want to know truth, but this world and the principalities in heavenly places, do not want people here to find out truth. For it would become a beacon of light for all the world to see!

a new year for los angeles

We are so excited as we look out on to this new year. We really believe that God wants to do amazing things as the good news of His kingdom is shared to people that have never heard it. We believe that God has plans for the lives of people here in Los Angeles who have never heard of Him and His kingdom. We started the year with a great team/staff retreat at a quaint little set of cabins up in the San Bernadino mountains. We feel that as a team God is leading us to start this year by focusing in more on the relationships we have been developing. So we are structurally shifting from having a weekly corporate gathering to only community groups. We ask that you would continue to pray for us and that God would use us and the work we are doing here to advance his kingdom in Los Angeles.
